Elmira Star-Gazette – Thursday, March 19, 1908:

Mrs. Lillian Abbott Foster, wife of Winfield S. Foster, died unexpectedly this morning at 10:15 o’clock at the home, 119 Lormore street. Her death brings widespread sorrow and regret, for the family is one of the best known on the Southside.

Mrs. Foster was born in Three Springs, Pa., February 11, 1855. She was married in 1874 at Three Springs, Pa. For many years she has resided in this city. She has always been highly esteemed, and was a woman whose interest and pleasure was in her home and in her family. She was a loving mother, of pleasant, kindly ways, and the sympathy of the community goes out to the husband and to the children.

Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband, Winfield S. Foster; five daughters, Mrs. D. B. Towart, Edith M., Amy L., Florence G. and Marie A.; one son, Wey Foster, of Binghamton; two sisters, Mrs. James Davis, of Wellsville, Ohio; Mrs. Brook Walter of Altoona, Pa.; two brothers, George Abbott of Saltillo, Pa., and Amos Abbott of Caona, Col.
