Adeline Ella Lottie (Harthun) Abbott passed to her heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Perham Memorial Home after celebrating her 90 ½ birthday. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dent, with burial at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Dora Township.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham.

Adeline was born February 18, l920, at rural Dent, the daughter of Herman and Martha (Stender) Harthun. Adeline was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church of Dora Township and attended School District #129.

Adeline married Orton Abbott on January 28, 1940, in Mayer, Minn. They celebrated 51 years together before his death in 1991. The family moved several times, including two trips to Washington state and then they made there home on Star Lake.

They were parents of five children, Beverly (Carl Modine), Curtis (Rita) Abbott, Marlene (Morris) Martinson, Bernice (Edward) Genoch and Gary (Linda) Abbott; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Eileen Sagmo of Detroit Lakes and Marion Zimmerman of Fergus Falls, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; four sisters, Helen Donovan, Anna Harthun, Luella Plessel and Olga Hazelwood; six brothers, Earl, Andrew, Paul, Vernon, Herman and George Harthun; and one great-grandchild.
