Alonzo was the son of Daniel Abbott of Maine and Sally (Unknown) Abbott of Maine. Alonzo was born in Franklin Plantation, Oxford County, Maine. Franklin Plantation was annexed to Rumford, Oxford County, Maine and Peru, Oxford County, Maine. Sally and Daniel were married in 1812. Sally and Daniel had three children. They were: Andrew Abbott was born about 1813; James F. Abbott was born about 1824; and Alpheus Alonzo Coburn Abbott was born on 24 November 1827. All the children were born in Franklin Plantation, Oxford County, Maine.
Alonzo married Fidelia P. Putnam in 1848 in Hartford, Oxford County, Maine. Fidelia was the daughter of James Lee Putnam and Betsey Ames Putnam of Canton, Oxford County, Maine.
Note: Came from Hartford prior to 1850, and settled in Franklin Plantation. Part of this area was set off to sumner and to Peru. He lived in the area that was annexed to Peru in 1885. Was paster of the Second Advant Church of Franklin Plantation, which was erected in 1883, and was founded in 1872 by the Rev. Lewis Putnam, who supplied this church in the absence of Rev. Abbott.
