"The remains of Mrs. John Wassmer were brought here from Kansas City Monday and placed in the Savannah cemetery in the family lot. The Wassmers were early settlers here, moving away when Mr. Wassmer was a young man. Mrs. Wassmer was 39 years of age. The funeral was preached in Kansas City Sunday and she died on Wednesday. M. E. Brown and his wife, of St Joseph, attended the funeral, as well as J. P. Somerville of Kansas City."
