ANITA A. ABBONDANTE, 85, of BERKELEY, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13. She was born in Newark and lived most of her life in Newark and Springfield before moving to Berkeley Township in 1985.
Mrs. Abbondante was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, and a member of the women's club of Silver Ridge Park.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; and her son, Robert. Mrs. Abbondante is survived by her children, Paul Abbondante of Orange, Ca, Joan Abbondante-McCluskey of Cranford, Susan Abbondante-Boiman of Plantation, Fl, Richard Abbondante of LaPlace, La, and Edward Abbondante of Newark; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A funeral service will be at 10:30am Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ.
