Sharon was born in Toledo on August 31, 1944, to John and Ethel (Drew) Abbey.
She married Bernard Fitzgerald in Toledo on August 13, 1966.
Sharon was a Data Entry Recorder for UPS, retiring in 1996.
Sharon was an avid Elvis Presley fan, and an avid bingo player. She loved penguins, thoroughly loved her cats, and was a girl scout leader for 6 years.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her loving husband, Bernard "Fritz"; daughter, Shelly (Nick) Meko; son, Bernie Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Ryan and Austin; sister, Loretta (Scott) Erdman; brother, Jack (Betty) Abbey and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Hamilton and niece, Peggy.
Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Funeral services will begin with prayers being recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
