Betty J. Abbey, 87, of Peoria passed away at 4:48pm Friday, August 21, 2015 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria, IL.

She was born on February 18, 1928 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Earl and Betty Reed Crotz. She married Richard Abbey on March 26, 1949 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2012.

Also preceding her in death were one son Rick, three brothers Wilton “Bingo”, James and Charles Crotz as well as one sister Rosalie Cleeton.

Surviving are one daughter Joni (Bob) Foster of Peoria and one son Phillip (Yuko) Abbey of Ramona, CA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jill (TJ) Jones, Daniel (Jessica) Foster and Julie (Geoffrey) LeMasters, and seven great grandchildren. Further surviving are two sisters Marilyn (Wayne) Wilkins in Chillicothe, Cheryl Brown of West Peoria and one brother Kenneth Crotz of Santa Deborah, AZ.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Blue Ridge Cemetery in rural Chillicothe.
