Reid McClelland Antle passed away peacefully Friday, May 27, 2005, in Hospice of Cincinnati. Before moving to Montgomery, OH, he resided with his family on Brittany Road in Ottawa Hills.
Mr. Antle was born April 19, 1924, in Springfield, Illinois to Russel J. and Beulah (Wells) Antle. In 1943, he graduated mid-term of his senior year at Springfield High School in order to enlist in the U.S. Navy to serve his country as a Torpedoman's Mate in the South Pacific during World War II. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he entered the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign graduating in 1949, with a degree in Industrial Design, receiving several awards in product design and sculpture. He was a member of Acacia Fraternity. He moved to Toledo in 1949, to accept a job with J.M. Little Associates. In 1953, Mr. Antle formed Interi or Design, Inc., specializing in residential and commercial projects, maintaining a preferred list of long time clients. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, The Toledo Club and Sandusky Yacht Club.
Mr. Antle was predeceased by his parents; sister, June Case and son, Richard Wells Antle. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Jayme Koegler (Keith), Criss Corrado (Sam), Darcy Moehring (Mike); sister, Donna Solomon (Robert); brother-in-law, Ray Case and grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Koegler, Torey, Sam and AJ Corrado, Molly, Nate and Michael Moehring and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial funeral services will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church Thursday at 11 a.m. Private interment Joy Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Inc., c/o Bethesda Foundation, Inc.
