UNION - Doris Shetley Rhymer, 69, of Conyers, Ga., formerly of Union, died Aug. 15, 1998, in Starcrest Nursing Home after an extended illness.
A native of Union, she was the daughter of Lizzie Robinson Shetley Lawson and the late Dewey Shetley.
She was a former member of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Union High School and Draugham Business College in Greenville. She was a retired secretary at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, Ga.
Survivors include a daughter, Katrina Barnes of Conyers, Ga.; two sons, Bill Rhymer of Conyers, Ga., and Stan Rhymer of Monroe, Ga.; a brother, Joe Thomas Shetley of Union; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, conducted by the Revs. Jamie Billings and Melvin Shelton. Burial will be in Union Memorial Park.
