One of the largest funerals ever held in Arcata was that of Joseph Graham Friday from the First Presbyterian church, the service being conducted by Rev. Charles P. Hessel. Floral offerings were numerous and beautiful, testifying to the high esteem in which the deceased was held by his many friends. The pall bearers were Dan Matthews, Dan McCormack, James McClosky, James Hill, Hans Olsen and Mads Kjer. Interment was at Myrtle Grove cemetery, the services at the grave being conducted by the Woodmen of the World, Arcata Camp No. 472.
