Everett Earl Wiggans, 79, former resident of Fort Scott and Arma, Kan., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton, Mo.

He was born Feb. 2, 1932, in rural Fort Scott, the son of Grant Wiggans and Osa Morrow Wiggans.

He was born in a small farm house that sat on a small plot of ground in the northeast corner of Clarksburg Cemetery.

He will be laid to rest just a few yards from the very spot where he was born.

He had one older sister, Helen Nuzum, and two older brothers, Donald Wiggans and Robert Wiggans, and one younger brother, Virgil Wiggans, all of whom preceded Earl in death.

Earl made his mark in life at an early age as a residential and commercial plumber and pipe fitter in Fort Scott. He became very well known in his field in the Seattle, Wash., area as well as the greater Kansas City area.

He was a member of the Gross Assembly Church.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Wiggans of Belton, Mo; two step-children, Jana Pearson and Raymond Dawkins and one grandson, Adam Pearson, all residents of Kansas City area.

Also surviving are five children from a former marriage; Fran Laker, Estelle Johnson, Mary Hutchinson, Tim Wiggans and Cheryl Dewey; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all living in the Seattle, Wash., area.

Lavetta Simmons will conduct graveside services for Everett Earl Wiggans at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Clarksburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until leaving for the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
