Ronald W. McCullough, 80, of Rural Valley, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at his residence. A son of the late James Carl and Lucy Wilma Boyer McCullough, he was born March 1, 1932, in Atwood. Mr. McCullough was a 1952 graduate of Shannock Valley High School and honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Ron was the owner and operator of McCullough Mining Inc. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Atwood, Operators Engineers Union, Indiana Lodge 313 F AM and a life member of the Keystone Sportsmen Club. Ron enjoyed farming, hunting and antique cars. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, W. Ruth Downey McCullough, of Rural Valley; four children, Pamela Ann McCullough, of Five Points, Susan Mae Wilson and husband, James, of Atwood, Greg Ronald McCullough and wife, Karen Lee, of Lewisburg, W.Va., and Michele Ellen Lohr and husband, Kerry, of Strongstown; a brother, Bernard C. McCullough, of Atwood; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Ray King, Luke James Wilson, Colton Gregory McCullough, Garth James Wilson, Isaac Matthew Lohr, Mariah Ruth Wilson and Mary Ellen Lohr; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne McCullough and Dwight D. McCullough; and two sisters, Nylene Hilliard and Lucille Eyler. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at ROBINSON-LYTLE INC. in Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Presbyterian Church of Atwood with the Rev.
