Kevin J. Kyte, age 28, of Northfield, died at his residence on Saturday, June 4, 2011.
Born in Oelwein, Iowa on June 5, 1982, Kevin was the son of Joseph and Bonnie (Harms) Kyte. He attended NRHEG schools and graduated in 2001. Kevin had worked for McClane's and Menards in Northfield, and was most recently working in food service at Carleton College. Some of his passions included water-skiing, shooting off fireworks, wrestling, working with children, playing baseball, and watching Twins and Vikings games. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Waseca, where he was involved in the Loving Through Serving Ministry, children's Sunday School and ushering. Kevin is also remembered as a wonderful son, brother and uncle.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Joseph and Bonnie Kyte of Waseca; three sisters, Lisa (Kyle) Schlaak of Cedar Rapids, IA, Camille (Theodore) Gustafson of Iowa City, IA, and Sarah (Erick) Thornberg of Walhalla, ND; nine nieces and nephews, Caleb, Gracie, Micah, Reuben, and Lincoln Schlaak, Hayden and Eli Gustafson, and Trinity and Teagan Thornberg; his maternal grandparents, Harley and Doris Harms of Buffalo Center, IA; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roger and Carol Kyte.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Christ Community Church in Waseca, with Pastor Chris Johnson and Pastor Howard Lundeen officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
