Miss Frances Martin was born October 15, 1783, Middletown Twp. Bucks Co., PA, the daughter of Daniel Martin, Esq. and his wife Agnes "Ann" [Murray].
Daniel Martin was born 1753, Hunterdon Co., NJ, the son of Thomas & Mary Martin, who soon moved to Middletown Twp, Bucks Co., PA. Thomas Martin died August 27, 1760, and his gravestone is also found at the Historic Newtown Presbyterian Church cemetery. Although Thomas was a resident of Middletown Twp, he was buried in Newtown, because his brother Rev. Henry Martin served as minister to the Newtown Presbyterian Church during 1760.
Agnes [Murray] Martin was the daughter of William & Jane Murray, a merchant of Philadelphia, PA. William Murray died in Philadelphia on September, 1762. Agnes' paternal uncle was Gen. Francis Murray of Newtown, and was named in his Will as "niece Nancy Martin".
Frances Martin's siblings were: Mary Martin, Agnes [Martin] Mitchell, Thomas Martin, William Murray Martin, Daniel Martin, Jr. and Charles Alexander Martin.
Frances Martin remained single all her life and died in Newtown Township on June 2, 1866.
