Dorothy Marie Allen, 73, of Shelbyville died Aug. 17, 2003, at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home in Franklin.

Survivors include her husband, George Allen of Marietta; her mother, Thelma Faye Aldridge of Shelbyville; sons Robert Wayne Allen of Greenfield, Joseph LeRoy Allen of Edinburgh, Barney Neil Allen of Indianapolis, John David Allen of Marietta, and William Allen of Fairland; daughter Diane Bogue of Waldron; brothers Laurel Aldridge of Wiesbaden, Germany, Raye Aldridge of Shelbyville, and Henry Aldridge of Indianapolis; sister Kaye Goodwin of Greenfield and Ida Cox of St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Aldridge, and her daughter Laura Allen.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Shelbyville with the Rev. Dan McCollough officiating.

Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Shelbyville. Friends may call from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Murphy-Parks Funeral Service in Shelbyville is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to Shelbyville First Baptist Church, 27 W. Broadway in Shelbyville, or the Alzheimer's Association c/o Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, Ind. 46176.
