Henry Cox Passes Following Illness.
Henry R. Cox, aged 65 years, prominent farmer of the western part of the county, passed away last Sunday night at the old Cox home place_____ following an illness covering a period of several months.
The deceased was a prominent figure in that part of the county, a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for more than fifty years and otherwise identified with the interests of that community. He had lived at his present residence for about forty-five years.
For many years since the death of his wife he had continued to make his home at the old home place with a daughter, Miss Maggie Cox. The funeral service was held from the Mount Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with Revs. G. D. Hunt and E. E. Laney being the officiating ministers. Interment was in the Mount Zion cemetery, with Robinson & Cutler in charge of arrangements.
Surviving the deceased are four sons: E. L. Cox and M. C. Cox, of Chambers County; J. R. Cox, of Birmingham; and W. R. Cox, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four daughters, Miss Maggie Cox and Mrs. W. D. Earl, of Chambers County; Mrs. T. C. Pool and Mrs. C. A. Freeman, of Tulsa, Okla.
Pallbearers were James Tucker, Thomas Richardson, W. H. Royston, Walter Green, J. W. Richards and Hayward Lambert.
