He traveled 50,000 miles a year by train and playing all the major whistle stops. His stage presence also included "Hi! I'm Buster Brown; I live in a shoe, This is my dog Tige. He lives there, too."

William Edmond Ansley (Nov 11 1888-Sept 26, 1972) Ansley traveled the country for 27 years promoting Buster Brown children's shoes with his dog Tige. From 1908 to 1935, the 42 in. dwarf appeared in a blonde wig, blue tie, red suit and hat, know as Buster Brown. He lived in Hugo until his death in 1972. "He was quite a Character."
