Mr. Benjamin Taylor Cable was a U.S. Representative for the state of Illinois. He served as a Democratic member of Congress from 4 March, 1891 to 3 March, 1893. He was Chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee in 1902 and a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1904.
In addition to his political interests, Mr. Cable was an agriculturalist who, upon retiring from Congress, served as co-owner of a ranch near San Antonio, Texas.
