Actor. Son of actors Pedro Larrañaga and María Fernanda Ladrón de Guevara, he debuted on stage at age 4 in the work "Alma de Dios" (Soul of God). During his long career he worked in theater and film and his filmography includes more than 70 films among others: "El extraño viaje" (The strange journey), with Fernando Fernán Gómez, "Las Verdes Praderas" (The green meadows), with Alfredo Landa, and participated too with Cary Grant, Sophia Loren and Frank Sinatra in "Orgullo y Pasión" (The pride and the passion), directed by Stanley Kramer in 1957. The work that make him very popular was television series "Farmacia de Guardia" (All-night drugstore), although the most important to him was "Los gozos y las sombras" (Joys and shadows). He was father of actors Luis Merlo and Ana Larrañaga. He obtained the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2002. (bio by: Errete)
