Musician, composer, arranger and producer. He was a prolific creator of hits and romantic songs for Spanish-speaking singers and discoverer of musical stars. For over 40 years he composed and arranged songs for Joan Manuel Serrat, Julio Iglesias, Raphael, Plácido Domingo, Luis Eduardo Aute, Mocedades, Camilo Sesto, Ricky Martin, David Bustamante, Marco Antonio Solís, Massiel, Amaral, Ana Belén, Alberto Cortéz, Nino Bravo and Luis Miguel, for whom wrote hits like "La incondicional", "Entrégate", "O tú o ninguna", "Amarte es un placer" and "Fría como el viento". He also collaborated with other foreign artists as: Lani Hall, Herb Alpert, Laura Branighan, John Secada and Sheena Easton. His most significant success was the song "Eres tú", released under his direction by the Spanish group "Mocedades", which for 40 years was recorded by countless artists. His first solo album with which had a great success was "Juan Carlos Calderón presents Juan Carlos Calderón" (1968) which won the Ondas prize. After he recorded, among others: "Route 101" (1982) and "Soleá" (1998), No. 1 on the jazz American charts. During his long career was awarded 3 Billboards, 5 Grammy, 5 ASCAP prizes , 2 Premios Ondas, 3 Premios de Música de SGAE (General Society of Authors of Spain) and 2 Premios Amigo. (bio by: Errete)
