Adult Film Star. Born Amanda Margaret Gantt, she was the daughter of a former Alabama politician. She began her career as a stripper at the O'Farrell Theatre in San Francisco, California. She became interested in a career in adult films after meeting, and being recruited by porn star Marilyn Chambers, who happened to be in the club viewing one Boyer's live stage performances. Nicknamed "The Ultimate Goddess of Erotica" by fellow film star Nina Hartley, she appeared in nearly 200 adult films spanning a 25 year career. She made her screen debut in "Cowgirls in Chains" in 1974. Her film credits include: "Girls U.S.A" (1980), "Nothing to Hide" (1981), "Aunt Peg's Fulfillment" (1981, "Coffee Tea or Me" (1983), "Las Vegas Hustle" (1984), "Ginger on the Rocks" (1985), "Slippery When Wet" (1986), "Cheerleader Academy" (1986), "Hard to Handle" (1987), "Samantha I Love You" (1988), "Girls Gone Bad" (1989), "Fantasy World", (1991), "All That Glitters" (1992) and "Dark Chambers" in 2000. She was an inductee in both the film critics XRCO and the AVN Hall of Fame. She was killed in a car-pedestrian accident while crossing a street near her home by an off-duty member of the Florida Highway Patrol. (bio by: Nils M. Solsvik Jr.)
