Bluegrass fiddler. Joe Meadows recorded with the Stanley Brothers from 1952 to 1955. In 1956, he was asked by Bill Monroe to be one of his "Bluegrass Boys." Joe toured with Bill Monroe until 1957 when he returned home to West Virginia. From then until 1974, he played local areas with Bill & Mary Reed and also Buddy Starcher. In the years 1974 to 1980, Joe toured with the group Jim & Jesse. In 1983, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he lived and performed up until the time of his death. (bio by: Heather from VA)
