While on a trip to California managed to get a part as an extra in "The Conqueror" (1956) starring John Wayne. He starred in many motion pictures including, "Dragstrip Girl" (1957), "Beach Party" (1963), "The Mad Doctor of Blood Island" (1968), Beyond Atlantis (1973). From the 1980s through the mid 1990s, Ashley was producing hit TV shows, including "The A Team,", "The Quest," and "Walker, Texas Ranger." Ashley also proved to be a good singer, releasing several singles on the Dot label in 1957 and 1958. His vocal talents are highlighted in "Zero Hour" (1957) and "Hot Rod Gang" (1958). (bio by: MC)
