Anna married Joseph Bolay on March 24, 1886 in Lyon County, Kansas. Joseph and Anna came to Oklahoma where they resided for two and one-half years before the opening of the Cherokee Strip.
When the strip was opened, they made the run and staked a claim three miles north of Orlando. There they established a home and raised their family of nine: Herman born in 1887, Charles in 1888, George in 1890, and Lillie in 1893. They lived in a dugout until 1902, when a house was built; Walter John was born in 1895, Samuel in 1897, Dennis in 1899, Clarence in 1902, Albert in 1904 and Christina in 1906. Walter John died at the age of two years. Samuel died in 1977, in the same room in the family home in which he was born.
In 1936 Anna and Joseph celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the Evangelical Church in Orlando with their extended family. They celebrated their 60th anniversary quietly at their home in Enid.
