Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hayhurst Memorial Chapel for Hugh Griffin Barnett, Jr. Rev. Louis Spurlock of Okmulgee will officiate, assisted by Lorene Casey. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery under the direction of the Hayhurst Wood Funeral Home,
Mr. Barnett was born June 27, 1949 at Booneville, Arkansas, the son of Hugh and Dovie Barnett, Sr. He was involved in an automobile accident on the loop at Okmulgee November 2nd, and passed this life at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Nov. 28th about 4:00 p.m. He was 31 years, 5 months and 1 day of age.
Junior worked for the Miller Heat Exchange in Tulsa and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. He had moved to Okmulgee from Henryetta in 1975.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dovie Smith. Okmulgee, two sons, Charlie Ray and Leon Duane, both of Sacramento, California, three sisters, Myrtle Hall, Dewar. Delphia Arnold, Okmulgee, Nina Smith, Okmulgee, three brothers, Wayne Barnett, Henryetta, Jerry Smith, Henryetta, and David Smith, Okmulgee.
