— The funeral for Opal Maxine Birkle, 88, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Alva Church of God. Pastor Bob Brown will officiate. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Willow Creek Cemetery, north of Buffalo. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
She was born June 1, 1920, in Rosston to Hardy and Fern Fleming Secrest and died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in Enid.
She attended Rosston school. In 1939, she married Eugene Charles Case at Rosston and they lived on a farm north of Buffalo. After living in Rosston, Buffalo, Wichita and Colorado, they moved to Alva in 1998.
She was a member of Alva Church of God.
Surviving are one son, James D. Case of Derby, Kan.; two adopted daughters, Carrie and Stacy Birkle, of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and five step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, three daughters, one brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Alva Church of God.
