Nadine M. Bechtold, 75, went home to Jesus on Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2003 11:00 AM, Waterloo Cemetery, under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home, Edmond, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Waterloo Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma, adjoining her husband, Donald K. Bechtold. Nadine was born October 30, 1927 in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Clarence Privett and Eliza (Bair) Privett. She was raised in Arkansas City, where she completed her high school education. She married Jack "JC" Fortenberry in 1944 and the couple had two children: Sheryl Diane Fortenberry, born in 1946, and Jackie L. Fortenberry, born in 1950. The family attended church at the Assembly of God Church in Arkansas City. Nadine was employed as a Registered Radiological Technician at Arkansas City Memorial Hospital, where she worked for many years and forged life long friendships. Nadine remarried Don K. Bechtold in 1964 and the family moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma. The Bechtolds subsequently resided in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and in Evanston, Wyoming, where Don was employed by Chevron Corporation, and in 1986 the couple moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, where Don was employed by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Upon retirement, Don and Nadine resided at the Oklahoma Christian Apartments in Edmond, Oklahoma. They had been married for 34 years when Don went home to Jesus in 1998. Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl D. Mason, of Yukon, Oklahoma, her son, Jack L. Fortenberry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Christian Fortenberry of Oklahoma City and Matthew Mason of Yukon, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Cassandra Poag of Oklahoma City; and two great grandsons. Nadine loved her family deeply and gave her children the enduring and priceless gift of a mother's unconditional love, imbuing them with deep compassion, a capacity to love others, and courage. Her family and children thank her and love her very, very deeply. Thank you, Mama, for being our mama and grandmother and for loving us so. We love you so very much. Baggerley Funeral Home 930 S.
