Violet L. (Easley) Baird died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at her home in California. Graveside services were held at Tannehill Cemetery with Pastor J.P. Hackler, of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Born June 25, 1915, in Pittsburg County, to Charles E. and C. Ethel (Green) Easley, she attended McAlester Public Schools, graduating from McAlester High School in 1934. She married J. Woodrow Baird in 1937 and lived in San Leandro, Calif. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Mitchell B. and Jean Easley, Oklahoma City; a sister, Hazel Armstrong, McAlester; a sister-in-law, Lesterree Easley, McAlester and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a baby sister, Vera Easley; a sister, Lou Bell Stovall; a brother, Monroe Easley; a sister and brother-in-law, Willa Mae and Willard Parkhurst and a brother-in-law, Robert I. Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers included John Mitchell, Bob Parkhurst, Charles Parkhurst, Bob M. Armstrong and Sidney Armstrong.
