MEEKER, Okla. —

Meeker resident Beulah Frances Parks-Clark died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, in Shawnee at the age of 87.
She was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Payson, Okla., to Uel Parks and Hazel (Jones) Parks. She graduated from Meeker High School and attended Central State College in Edmond. She later went to Beauty College and became a beautician, and arose at 4 a.m. to milk cows on the dairy farm for many years. She operated her own beauty shop for more than 60 years before retiring in 2006.

During World War II she worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a magneto test engineer.

In 1939 she married John William Clark.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Meeker, and the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, painting, but especially enjoyed her two dogs, Taco and Dash.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sister, Mary Jo Moore, a great-grandson, Rhett Clark.

Survivors include three children, John Harold Clark and Debra LaPointe of Claremore, Max Clark and wife Trish of Oklahoma City, and Carolyn Cope and husband John of Meeker; seven grandchildren, Jeff Clark and wife Lori, Chet Clark and wife Darla, Brian Clark and wife Tricia, Shannon Patterson and husband Drew, Bridget Cook and husband Colby, E.J. Cope and wife Julie, and Jonas Paul Cope; two sister, Hazel Lee Hall and Violet Cates; one brother, Courtney Parks and wife Sue; one brother-in-law, C.M. Clark and wife Sue; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Chet Clark, Brian Clark, E.J. Cope, Jonas Paul Cope and cousin Paul Parks.

Service held Jan. 21, at First Christian Church in Meeker with the Rev. Jim Wharton and the Rev. Shannon Patterson officiating.
