LILLIAN PEARL AKE, daughter of Vessie Manford and Iva Pearl (Yeatman) Baldwin, was born August 11, 1945. She departed this life on her 64th birthday at the Woodward Regional Medical Center.
She attended several schools including Carrier and Enid. She attended Beeches Beauty College in Enid and later attended Redlands Community College in El Reno.
Lillian was united in marriage to Floyd Eldon Ake, September 8, 1964 at Montrose, CO. They made their first home in Montrose and later moved to Missouri due to Floyds work. In 1970, they returned to Oklahoma, making their home in Okeene, then Enid, then to Chester and finally to Seiling where they raised their three children: Angela, Clint and Melony. She attended the Elm Grove Community Church. Before her health began to fail, Lillian worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at New Hope based in Mangum, OK.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Ake of Seiling; two daughters: Angela Snyder and husband Ronald of Woodward and Melony Ake of Seiling; one son: Clint Ake and wife Chandra of Seiling; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters: Lois Jean Moad and Louise Courrier and one brother: Leon Baldwin all of Seiling. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
The funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Elm Grove Community Church with Pastor Orville White, officiating. Interment followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery east of Vici under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling. Memorials can be made to the Lillian Ake Memorial Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
