Services for Haley Brook Antwine, of Soper, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 6, 2003 at the Soper High School Gymnasium. Bro. Joe Maple officiated the ceremony. He was assisted by Bro. Brent Franks. Interment followed at the Sugar Creek Cemetery.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 5, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo.
Haley Brook Antwine died Feb. 3, 2003 in Soper. She was 20.
Haley Brook Antwine was born March 3, 1982 in Paris, Texas to Jimmy and Erma (Clark) Antwine. She had lived in Soper all of her life.
Haley was ranked third in the Soper 2000 graduating class. Her grade point average was 3.914 on a 4.0 scale. Haley was a member of the Superintendent's honor roll, the Oklahoma Honor Society and the National Honor Society. She was also a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students., and All-American scholar, awarded the National English Merit, and the gifted and talented.
Haley was voted 'All-around sophomore', 'All-around junior' and 'All-around senior', 'Most likely to succeed', 'Most admired' and queen of her senior prom.
She had been a member of the FFA for four years, FHA for two years, Drama club for one year, drug-free club for one year, NHS for one year and 4-H.
Haley had been an FFA Sentinel, FFA Secretary for two years, NHS secretary and Drug-Free club secretary. Haley was also the 1999 recipient of the Oklahoma R.E.C. Washington D.C. Youth Tour trip and the winner of the Rotarian Leadership Camp Award of 1999.
Haley had furthered her education, attending Oklahoma State University, majoring in speech pathology. She was also an active member at OSU in the Stillwater Church of Christ University Center.
Haley was a very faithful Christian who loved God, family, friends and life itself.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Floyd Antwine and her grandmother, Jane Clark.
Haley was a special person and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her parents, Jimmy F. and Erma J. Antwine of Soper; two sisters, Carra Lea Antwine and Megan Paige Antwine, both of Soper; her paternal grandmother, Jean Antwine of Soper; and her maternal grandparents, James & Jewel Clark of Fort Towson and a host of other family members and friends.
The Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
