Ricky Eugene “Rick” Eshelman, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 in Wichita, Kan. He was 57.

He was born on July 21, 1957, the son of Earl “Buck” and Ruby Stewart Eshelman in Caldwell, Kan. He attended and graduated from Caldwell High School with the Class of 1975.

Rick married Cindy on April 6, 1985 and to this union their son John was born.

Rick was involved in many different activities through out his life including, farming, owning his own businesses and helping family and friends with their endeavors.

Most importantly he was always there for John and anything he needed. He spent a lot of free time at the Kaw Lake, where he made many lifetime friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Buck Eshelman; brother, Bob Eshelman; sister-in-law, Jan Eshelman; and brother-in-law, Rick Volavaka.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Cindy and son, John, both of Harper, Kansas; mother, Ruby Eshelman, of Caldwell, Kan.;

brothers, Dave Eshelman, also of Harper, and Gary Eshelman, of Perkins; his sister, Brenda Volavaka, of Caldwell, Kan.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Spring Creek Cemetery in Grant County.

Spring Creek Cemetery is located 3 miles East and 4.5 miles South of Caldwell, Kan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in his name to Rick Eshelman Memorial Fund c/o of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 613 W. 14th, Harper, KS 67058.
