Services for Willie Mae Barnes, 76, of Wilson, were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with Charles Ivie officiating.

Mrs. Barnes was born June 28, 1927, at Leon, the daughter of William "Will" W. and Lottie Mae Ward Russell. She died Sunday, November 23, 2003, at her residence in Wilson.

She grew up in Leon and graduated from Leon High School in 1947. She and John William "Jack" Barnes were married June 4, 1950, at Marietta. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1951 where she was employed by Children's Hospital as a supervisor in the cafeteria. Mrs. Barnes retired in 1987. In 1992, she moved to Wilson. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Seiden of Moore; two sons, James S. Barnes of McLoud and Charles Barnes of Wilson; three sisters, Ruby Williams of Oklahoma City, Evelyn Hood and Doris Carlile, both of Denton, Texas; a brother, Quenton Russell of Thackerville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, John Wm. "Jack" Barnes on February 9, 1988; two brothers, Harmon and Bud Russell; and two sisters, Mae Coley and Ola Kendall.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Carlile, Donnie Carlile, Rick Copeland, Euel Russell, David Russell and Larry Russell. Honorary pallbearer was Steve Russell.

Interment was in the Simon Cemetery, Love County, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
