Ray Alsup, son of Francis Cicero Alsup and Mary Alice (Anderson) Alsup. He married Bonnie Lee Rider and had a son Franklin E. Alsup (1917-2002)
Ray Alsup, age 22, was drown in the South Canadian river north of here last Thursday evening. Alsup, who was a mail carrier on the star route of Minco, with his wife and another couple, composed a party who were spending the evening at the railroad bridge and while he was wading in the river, stepped into a deep hole, and being unable to swin, drown before the rest of the party could come to his assistance. The accident happened about 7:30 in the evening and the body was not recovered until early the next morning. The body was brought to the L. T. Coffey undertaking parlors where it was prepared for burial, after which it was taken to the home of his parents near Scott, several miles west of here. Funeral services were held Saturday. Deceased had been living on a farm west of town until about four months ago when he came to Minco, and accepted a position as carrier on the star route. He leaves a wife and small child.
