CARTER R. ANDERSON JR. Carter R. ``Tuck'' Anderson Jr., 50, an attorney with the law firm of Anderson and Winslow, died Jan. 5, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital. Mr. Anderson was a native of Ashville, N.C., and was a resident of Virginia Beach since 1973. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Benedictine High School in Richmond in 1963 and V.M.I. as a Distinguished Military Graduate, in 1967, and from the University of Richmond Law School, class of 1970. He was formerly an assistant commonwealth's attorney for the city of Virginia Beach and previously was with the law firms of Anderson, Hubard and Huffman, and more recently Anderson and Padrick. He was a member of many organizations and clubs, including the Virginia State Boxing Commission where he served as an official, and was also a member of the Rolex Rangers. Survivors include his wife, Judge Virginia L. Cochran; a son, Matthew Randolph Anderson of College Station, Texas; a stepdaughter, Claire C. Miller; a stepson, Scott C. Miller, both of Virginia Beach; his mother, Martha Johnson Anderson; and his father, Carter Randolph Anderson, both of Virginia Beach; A church service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Star of the Sea Catholic Church by the Rev. William V. Sullivan. Burial will be private in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the VMI Foundation, c/o the VMI Alumni Association, Box 932, Lexington, Va. 24450 H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road, is handling the arrangements.
