Funeral services for Dollie Iris Black, 70, were held last Friday in the First Baptist church of Lexington, with Rev Joe Ed Conn and Rev Ron Crews officiating. Burial was in the family plot in the Lexington cemetery under direction of Little's Conner-Sparlin funeral home.
Born at Corbett, she had lived most of her life in the Lexington area. She was a member of the First Baptist church and retired in 1972 after working a number of years at the University of Oklahoma as a supervisor in the food service department. Mrs Black died May 27 in the Purcell municipal hospital following a brief illness.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Margaret Watkins of Lexington, Barbara Tate & Patricia Forehand, both of Meeker, and Carla Shelton of Purcell, 4 sons, Don & Terry Black, both of Lexington, Omar (Buddy) & Bill Black, both of Carbondale, CO., 20 grandchildren, & 4 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, Verl Higbee, L.B. Higbee, Hill Higbee, Laurance Higbee, all of Noble, Ron Higbee of Norman, 4 sisters, Idell DeHeer, Alda Dean Glenn, & Patsy Smith, all of Noble, and Mrs Dane Davis of Norman.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Black, Garry Watkins, Larry Glen Black, Jesse Neal Tate, Michael Black, and Terry Black.
