10/17/1974- The Purcell Register:
Mrs Rose B. Carpenter, 80, a native of Lexington, died Oct 7, in a hospital in Cushing, after a long illness.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie Cutter, an early day Lexington businessman. A Rosary service was held in the Yoakum Memory chapel the evening of Oct 9 and funeral services were held the next morning in the St John the Baptist Catholic church in Lexington, with Father John O'Brien officiating. Interment was in the Lexington Catholic cemetery.
Mrs Carpenter attended the Catholic Convent, in Purcell, as a child and was a member of St Peter & Paul Catholic church at Cushing.
Survivors include 2 nieces, Sarah Crawford of New Orleans, LA., and Jo Leonard of Houston, TX., and a nephew, Carl Wagner of Houston, TX. Pallbearers were Buddy Vandagriff, Theodore Schmitz, Bernard Ille, Henry Dumas, Francis Hesse and John Vieth.
