Mark Booth the son of Cicero and Mary Effie (Pike) Booth was born on Aug. 30, 1924 in Tahlequah and departed this life on May 25, 2009 in Tahlequah at the age of 84 years, eight months and 25 days. Mark was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed everything that came about with farming such as plowing the garden, tending to the livestock and especially harvesting from the garden what his hard work provided. He also loved to fish and if the truth be told he probably would have rather been fishing some of those times he was plowing. Mark was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Oma Booth; one daughter, Geneva Booth; four brothers, Ed Booth, Don Booth, James Dawson and Denzil Dawson; and two sisters, Hazel Jones and Evie Dawson; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. Mark is survived by: his two daughters: Bonnie Mathis and husband Floyd of Oakdale, Calif., and Mary Jean Gentry of Tahlequah; two sons, Mark Eugene Booth and wife Irene of Tulsa, and Virgil Wayne Booth of Tahlequah; one sister, Bernice Drywater of Tahlequah; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Brother Dennis Fine officiating. Interment will follow at the Ross Cemetery in Tahlequah. Services were entrusted to the Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Tahlequah.
