Arvle Dollie Adkins, age 84, of Mangum, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008, at Comanche
County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Adkins was born on October 5, 1923, in Altus, Oklahoma. With his parents dying at an early age, Arvle lived
with several different relatives and attended Porter High School, south of Altus. Shortly after graduation, he
joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country in many locations. Working most of his life as
a mechanic, he also owned and operated Ramona's Café and Mom's Café in Mangum and the Granite Café in
Granite with his friend and partner, Ramona Pendleton. Fishing, gardening and reading were his favorite
Arvle was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Alan Adkins
and wife Debra of Dighton, Kansas, Martha Ann Schoolcraft and husband John of Hollis and Rick Adkins of
Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Donna, Beth, Jarred, Lucas and Curtis; a special friend, Ramona
Pendleton of Mangum and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Arvle D. Adkins will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel
with Brother Jeff Dill officiating. Internment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral
Home of Mangum.
