Graveside services for Eugene B. Brown, 75, of Lexington were held March 17, 2004 at Red Oak Cemetery in Slaughterville with the Rev. Dale Kirkhuff officiating. Services were under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Brown died March 14, 2004 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
He was born April 11, 1928 in Pennington, Va., the only child of Robert Boyd and Kitty Ely Brown. He was reared and attended school in Detroit, Mich.
Following high school he served his country in the U.S. Army.
Following his service in the military, he attended radio school in Louisville, Ky., and worked for a television station for two years as a prop manager.
Mr. Brown was a self-employed carpenter and after working at the television station he worked as a carpenter for many years.
He married Iona Sulfridge Feb. 9, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1972 they moved to Oklahoma City where they lived until 1979 when they moved to Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Iona Brown, of the home; his children, Aaron Brown and Lawrence Brown, both of Lexington, Barbara Bione and her husband, Jerry, of Asher, Frances Brown of Helena, Ark., and Lois Brown of Reno, Nev.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Richardson, Robby Graytson, Christopher Bione and Jerry Bione.
