Nancy Crittenden Tobbaco McCarter

Nancy Crittenden Tobbaco McCarter's parents were Sarah McCabe and Jack E. Crittenden who was marrried before 1877. Jack E. Crittenden was born in 1814 and died in June 5, 1885. Jack was previously married to (1) Anna Walker before 1842, and she was the daughter of _____Walker and Da-Ni- Hatchet. She was born about 1824 and died in 1865. Nancy married (1) John Tobacco before 1865. He was born about 1846. After his death she married (2) John McCarter before 1870, and he was the son of Deceiver and DA-YE-NI. John McCarter was born in 1847 and died between 1890-1902.

Nancy Crittenden was listed on the Drennan roll for Native Americans at Going Snake #301 and was on the 1880 Census of the Cherokee Nation; Tahlequah, Oklahoma as Nancy McCarty.

John McCarter her second husband was also listed on the 1851 Drennan roll; Tahlequah #5 and the 1890 and 1890 Census of the Cherokee Nation; Tahlequah, Oklahoma 1491 and 3773 respectively.
