Mr. James Akeroyd was born in Batley, Yorkshire, England, July 15th, 1789 [1799], and departed this life, March 22d, 1889, aged 89 years, 8 months, and 7 days. He located in Coshocton county O. in August 1842 and remained a resident of this county until death. He united with the Episcopal church in his youth and retained his connection with that church until death. The funeral was conducted by Rev. T. H. D. Harrold at the house, and the remains were taken to Dresden and buried by the side of his wife who died twenty years ago.
