Tecumseh resident Oneta R. (Fowler) Adams, 78, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Tecumseh.
She was born Nov. 16, 1930 near OK, Oklahoma to Lawrence Neal and Zella May (Barler) Fowler. She was reared near OK, Oklahoma. On Nov. 1, 1952, she married Jack W. Adams in Shawnee. She and her husband reared their family while Mr. Adams served in the US Air Force. They retired to Macomb in 1967.
They then moved to Tecumseh in 1991, where she had resided since. She attended grade school at Willow View and was a 1950 graduate of Macomb High School. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker. She also worked as a secretary and teachers aide at Macomb for 13 years.
She was a member of OK Church; and an honorary member of FHA. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, and reading. A loving mother, her children and grandchildren were the focal point of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 2, 1996; and by her parents. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne Harmon of Tecumseh, Alicia Roberts of Earlsboro. Charlotte Rene´ and Rick Springer of Greenville, SC; one son and daughter-in-law Jack and Anita Adams, II of Tecumseh; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 pm Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. To share memories, or to sign the guest book on-line, go to www.cooperfuneral.com.
