Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Platter Baptist Church, Platter, for Alton Joe Juelch, 70, Platter, who died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at his residence. Rev. Allen Juelch will officiate.

He was born Saturday, March 22, 1936, in Mesa, Ariz., to George William and Ruby Lois (Fowler) Juelch. He married Myrtle Francis Thompson July 2, 1956, in Carson City, Nev.

He was a member of the Platter Holiness Church, an inspector for Oscar Mayer and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed baseball, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, two brothers, and son-in-law Gale Dawson.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters Debbie Dawson, Platter, Beckie Johnson and husband Norman, Platter, Tonie Johnson and friend, Richard Hopkins, Colbert, Anggie Parker and husband Gene, Valliant; son Allen Juelch and wife Kim, Platter; brother Vernon Juelch, West Point, Calif.; grandsons Wade Dawson and wife Tricia, Denison, Texas, Curtis Harris, Colbert, Brandon Juelch, Platter, Matthew Parker, Valliant; granddaughters Kim Rowland and husband Cody, Platter, Carrie McMahan and husband Brandon, Denison, Kris Jordan and husband Ramon, Platter, Destiny Noland and husband Brandon, Calera, Tiffany Hempsted and husband Micheal, Durant, Cacey Harris, Colbert, Candi Johnson, Colbert, Telisa Parker, Valliant; great-grandchildren Brady Rowland, Preslee Jordan, BaLee Noland, Caanan Jordan, Keegan Rowland and BritLee Noland.

Burial will be in Platter Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Rowland, Michael Hempsted, Brandon McMahan, Ramon Jordan and Aaron Thompson.

VFW Post No. 3916 will conduct military service at the cemetery.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A family meal will be at noon Tuesday at the Platter Baptist Church fellowship hall. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
