J.E. Curtis Dies in Oklahoma City --
John Elbert Curtis, Rt. 8, Oklahoma City, Okla., age 72 years, 1 month and 13 days passed away at his home Thurs, Nov 8. He was born at Walnut Hill, IL, Sept 25, 1873 to Mr. And Mrs. Jno. L. Curtis.
They moved to Oregon County, Mo when he was a small boy. He became a Christian at an early age, joining the Baptist Church at Cave Springs.
Mr. Curtis was a jeweler at Alton for several years until moving with his family to Oklahoma City in Nov 1917.
He was married to Miss Mary Putnam, Dec 22, 1895. He is survived by his wife, a son, Roy A. Curtis, 2 daughters, Mrs. Clessie Yost and Mrs. Alice Johnson, 4 grandchildren. Gene Johnson, Elaine and David Yost, all of Oklahoma City, and Con Curtis of the US Navy at Pearl Harbor, a sister, Mrs. Chas. N. Elliott, Alton, Mo, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted in the Memory Chapel of the Hunter Funeral Home by Rev. EG Lukehart, at 2:00 pm Sat, Nov 10. Interment in the Moore Cemetery.
