Caroline was the daughter of James Sappington Chilcoat and Eliza Jane Armor Chilcoat.

She married Samuel Blankenship August 10, 1862 in Lawrence County, Alabama.

They had the following children: Susie May, James H., Robert Henry and John Miller Blankenship.
