Peggy Ann Armstrong, age 82 of Oilton, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the O.S.U. Medical Center in Tulsa, Ok. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Yale. Mr. Bobby Hill and Mr. Terry Pope will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Oilton, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, OK.
Peggy was born on June 26, 1930 in Bristow, Oklahoma to the late Harrell and Minnie (Carver) Fisher. She grew up in Bristow, Chandler, Sapulpa and graduated from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Tx. Peggy married the love of her life Billy Ray Armstrong on July 1, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. He entered the service shortly thereafter. She went to live with family in New York City where she attended beauty college. Peggy then moved to Germany to be with her husband in the service. After returning from the service, they moved to California and various other places before making their home in Oilton in 1967. She worked for the First State Bank in Oilton then opened the City Café and later working and retiring as a teller at the Northside State Bank (Chase) in Tulsa. She was a member of the Church of Christ. After retirement she took care of her grandchildren. She liked to cook, take care of family, bird watch and look at her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Armstrong, son Lynn Armstrong and sister Audrey Hazlip.
