My second-great grandmother, Ida Mae Cole Adams, was the daughter of Albert Newton Cole (son of William Alfred Cole and Nancy Maxey) and Judith "Juda" A. Maxey (daughter of Wm. Harrison Maxey and Sarah M. Sublett), both of Warren Co., KY. Ida married Granville Parker Adams circa 1889 in Indian Territory. They had six children together: Luther, Ed, Bertha, William "Aud", Orvie and Homer. Some have speculated about who Ida's mother was, but I found Ida, her siblings, and parents (A.N. and Judith A. "Coal") on the 1875 Kansas STATE census (not federal) before they migrated down into Indian Territory (Oklahoma), which confirms her mother being Judith "Juda" Maxey.
Ida is buried in a mountain pasture outside Spaulding, Hughes Co., OK with a large stone that someone scratched "Ida" on by hand. Just below the hill is the South Canadian River.
