Graveside srvices were held Monday, July 16 at the Newby Cemetery in Wellston for Andrew Allen Newby of Wellston. Bro. Charles Wilson officiated the services under the direction of Brown" Funeral Home in Luther. Newby died Tuesday, July 10, 2001at his home at the age of 56. He was born Jan. 10, 1945 in Chandler to Harry and Vesta Mae Newby. He was a 1963 graduate of Wellston High School and was a life long resident of Lincoln County. Newby spent most of his life farming south of Wellston on the family farm and served with the National Guard, volunteering his time for his country. Preceeding him in death were his parents, six brothers and sisters, Darwin, John, Juanita, Margurette, Betty and Richard. Survivorsinclude seven brothers and sisters, Carl and Bill Newby, both of Wellston; Alice Nichols of Lawndale California; HarryJoe Newby of Northshore, Salif,; Nancy Harris and her husband Ted, of Scottsdale, Ariz.;Jack and his wife Dortha, and Robert Newby, all of Chandler, Ariz.; other family and friends.
