Joseph Nicholas Ardese, 53, of Skiatook, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones-Harkins Chapel with the Rev. Junior Miller officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Station Cemetery in Wilburton. Military honors will be provided by United States Navy Honor Guard. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton. Born May 19, 1957, in Talihina, he was the son of Joseph and Agnes (Wade) Ardese. He was a graduate of Panola High School and received an associate degree attending Northeastern State University and Okmulgee Tech. He was a case worker for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He married Debbie Rice in September 2001 and they had made their home in Skiatook since that time. He was an Oklahoma State University fan and served in the U.S. Navy for two months. Survivors include his wife Debbie, of the home; three sons, Andrew Unap, of the home, Robert Andrew Unap Jr. and wife, Regan, and Joseph Michael Unap and wife, Jennifer, all of Bartlesville; a daughter, Crystal Conover, of Texas. Also, six grandchildren, Chance, Jewell, Robert III, Joseph, Laura and David; four brothers, Michael and wife, Lisa Griffitts Moore, of McAlester, Anthony and wife, Janie Ardese, Excelsior Springs, Mo., Elmer Ardese, of Tuskahoma, and Vincent and wife, Jan Ardese, of McAlester; one sister, Rosalie Ardese, of Tuskahoma, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends and a special friend, Ruth Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl and Jimmy Joe, and two nephews, Clayton and Joseph Ardese. Pallbearers will be Robert Unap Jr., Joseph Unap, Andrew Unap, Mikie Griffitts, Donnie Griffitts and Chris Griffitts. Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Goodfox and his nephews.
